I regret doing my internship at this particular agency. I learned a lot but it was due to me persueing the experiences I wanted. I would not recommend this agency to ANYONE.

There are very strong conflict resolution policies in place that are adhered to. It is expected that all staff, volunteer and interns sign off on these policies and practice them. This can be a challenge for those who are not used to confronting conflict (which happens in every agency), or who do not have a lot of work experience. Staff and interns are given weekly supervision, bi-weekly case management review time, and staff are given bi-weekly clinical supervision by a licenced clinical social worker (at the agency's expense). There are many open doors to express any dissatisfaction, ask for more challenges and share ideas. If you choose not to go through those doors, it is made clear that that decision rests on you.

I have enjoyed volunteering at this organization. The staff are hard working, ethical, professional, very motivated and committed to providing their clients with the best possible service.

It has been a pleasure and a wonderful growth experience to be associated with The Denver Center for Crime Victims for more than 20 years. It is the best run nonprofit I have ever been associated with and constantly gives reinforcement to workers and volunteers and opportunities to learn and use one's multiple skills. I have always told new employees and volunteers there to make note of the excellent management because that is not the case elsewhere and they can learn so much.
